Well this is it. I've reached the end of my visit to Tropea. My initial pessimism "of having bit off more than I could chew" proved to be unfounded thanks to some nice people here, a timely visit from my good friend Girard Depoti and all the support those of you who've taken the time to read this blog and Skype with me in the evenings. Many thanks to all of you.
First stop, my corner market.
Unfortunately the couple who've been so nice to me weren't there this morning so I couldn't take a picture of them. I'll check back tonight when I walk down for dinner, but I haven't seen them there at night.
Here's my great produce/fruit guy. His first question was "was I coming back to Tropea?" You never know. Great guy, ultra friendly.
This is Eduardo's restaurant it's really called Le Villetta (the Chalet) not Pizza Heaven. It just is Pizza Heaven.
Picture of Eduardo.

One last pizza.
Familia Buttafuoco, my extraordinary hosts for the past four weeks plus.
I had time for one more tour of the town before it started sprinkling again (notice I didn't say rain). So I hung out for a time at a little park that is adjacent to a bar I once had a drink at (they weren't that friendly, so I didn't return).
And one final trip to the beach. Weather kinda remind you of Depoti's last day??
Spring Clean up has begun in force. I saw at least seven people (including these three) pushing carts and cleaning up rubbish.
And on my absolutely, positively FINAL trip up the stairs, I noticed that tonight's dinner had arrived at the port.
I'll leave Tropea with some of the words of one of my favorite songs cause it's how I feel about this place:
"It never will be that way again
Maybe it wasn't way back when
But to my heart and soul
This is the way the story has to be told
Some of our stories fade as we grow older
Some get sweeter every time they're told
That's the way I remember you that way" -Garth Brooks
Ciao Bella Tropea
