A couple weeks ago when we decided to spend more time here and on the Eastern Seaboard, I started looking for VRBO's and after a few hits and misses found this one. 850 dollars for the week. 50 dollar cleaning fee and 300 damage deposit. 3 Bedrooms/2 baths.
Sweet place. I could get used to this.

We spent most of the afternoon looking at properties around this neighborhood and stopped by an open house and found a very nice 2 bedroom/2 bath for 121K. The realtor had lived in Arvada in the 70's and liked to swap hippie stories (our realtor in Crystal River was from Stuttgart, where we lived in the late 50s). We took his card and he'll show us a 3 bed/2 bath condo that he picked up on a foreclosure and is willing to let go for 99K. He was like most agents, "Hey I'm not like other agents, you want to see my stuff, send me an email." Yada Yada. But we've got to have someone to get us in to some of the 120 that Kathy wants to see..
As we drove around checking out neighborhoods, we saw lots of other lookie loos. According to our friend starting December 1st, it's a feast or famine market until April 1.
But we can't limit ourselves to house hunting. Tomorrow it's the Broncos in the afternoon. Monday and Tuesday its 75 plus degrees so it's beach days. Gasparilla Island and probably Fort Myers Beach. You'll see why this area is in such demand. We'll spend some time in Venice, visit the Ringling Bros. museums and check out their beaches as well.
And for dinner. Mixed greens with Grilled Chicken and Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette paired with a 2011 First Cru St. Aubin that I picked up in France this fall.
Good night and good luck.
