Moving East. Oh Look! There's a house for sale

We left Rotonda this morning and headed north and east for the Atlantic coast after a week of relaxing on the beach and looking at lots of houses (which wasn't so relaxing).

On Friday, we discovered the model homes. Think Parade of Homes but with obnoxious sales people trying their damndest to get you to commit to something that you've seen for 5 minutes.

While I thought for a while that 25 Bunker Terrace was a done deal for Kathy, but once she saw the new models, which ranged in price from 150 to 180K, I could tell that overkill had set in and doubt now ruled.

It's become a choice of affordability, i.e. no mortgage on a functional house without the bells and whistles but easily updated or a brand new home with a bit of a mortgage and everything you could want.

Decisions, decisions.

Friday night we went out to a great dinner at the incredibly popular "The Fishery". A remodeled fishery, it had terrific seafood dishes with abundant portions. I do mean lots of food. Kathy had a Shrimp salad sandwich with fries (she never touched the bun or came close to eating all the fries) and I had seared shrimp and scallops in a garlic butter sauce served over linguini with fresh tomatoes, spinach and pancetta.(Way too much food.) Great place, great food and very fresh seafood.

We're in Satellite Beach now after a surprisingly busy interstate run thru Tampa and Orlando. Lots of Saturday traffic. Lots.

Satellite Beach is just east of Melbourne and south of Patrick AF Base and Cocoa Beach.
We arrived around 1 PM and the maid was still cleaning from the previous guests, so we dropped off our bags and went looking for somewhere to get some lunch.

We found a nice waterfront  joint called "The Lobster Shanty". Kathy had the Lobster Bisque and I had New England Clam Chowder with a Coconut Shrimp w/ Mango Jalapeno Jelly for an appetizer. Another nice place. We'll hit it for a sunset dinner later this week.

We rented a 3 bedroom condo on the fourth floor of the Pebble Beach Club for our week here. A bit dated on the outside, but nice enough on the inside with 2 balconies and a private patio of the master bedroom. Big place. We'll be here til Saturday and have lots of room. Come on down!

Some pics. Here's the view to the North.

The view to the South.

The Living Room

Tomorrow we'll probably just walk up or down the beach and take it easy. Monday, depending on dependable the internet connection is will be condo hunting day here. Kathy doesn't seem all that impressed with the area, but we'll see if that changes.

The Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral await us as well. A side trip to Daytona Beach and maybe St. Augustine are in the cards if the condo hunt bores.

Good night and good luck.
