Bali Hai. Talk about an upgrade.

Who says it doesn't get cloudy and rainy in paradise? I did, but it was wishful thinkin'.

Big rain storm on Moorea last night, buckets in fact, but high clouds this morning when heading out to the airport.

Another quick flight, probably 25 minutes or so to the tiny airport on one of the motus that surround the island and its lagoon.

Waiting to pick us up was a boat from the lagoon for a quick 5 minute ride to the Bora Bora Pearl Beach resort. Met a nice couple from Milwaukee on the boat and had drinks with them at the bar later in the afternoon. They couldn't believe that the mini bar was empty so they stocked it right up from the bar. Their son just moved to Denver from LA and they were excited about not having to play in the traffic any longer. Well comparatively anyway.

Check in was a breeze and Marc showed me to my Garden Pool Bungalow. Now I honest thought that the room would be on the pool, but no, it has its own little pool with Jacuzzi nozzles and garden.

Also outside is a separate enrtrance and an enclosed picnic area.

It's another spacious bedroom with lounging couch and desk.

Separate bath area with an outdoor shower.

I told Marc that I wasn't sure that I should be showering outside since it might warrant too much attention from the housekeeping staff. He acted like he'd heard that one before.

The resort grounds are very well kept again. There's a nice beach. Plenty of over water bungalows and a great view.

The entrance to number 66

Some of the many, many many coconut trees.

The beach and partial view of a neighboring motu.

Over water bungalows looking towards the main island.

Decided on Sushi for dinner and was entertained by the sweet Polynesian sounds of Mikey and Mickey who did a smokin hot version of the Bee Gees "Too Much Heaven" in Tahitian. I kept going, I know that song.

A rainstorm passed by just after I finished dinner. Hopefully it will all clear out tonight as I booked a Reef Exploration Snorkeling Tour tomorrow morning that completely circles the island. Gonna get wet one way or another but it would be nice to have a sunny day to take pictures of the lagoon.
